Heartwild Solitaire Classic

Hey, all!
I recently downloaded the Christmas gift of classic solitaire, and while I do enjoy the game and the stories, I've got a couple of minor quibbles. 1) I'm not overly thrilled about the lack of an 'undo' button. Sometimes we misclick or make dumb mistakes, and it's nigh impossible to undo them. 2) I don't really like how we get points taken away from the score as time passes. It feels like I'm being penalised for stopping to think about what I'm doing. Other than that, great work! I really enjoy it! |

Hey Puck! :)
Thanks for your comments. Hmh... about undo. I remember there were some technical difficulties with that, but I'll take another look and make sure. As for the negative score though -- think of it as a reward for being fast ;) Seriously, this was our main goal. We also wanted it to be consistent with how most solitaire games work (including the one in Windows) so that our scoring methods are somewhat comparable. A funny story: in an early version of the game we even had a special effects going on, announcing every 10 seconds that you just lost some score because you're too slow. People hated it, since that REALLY felt like punishment, LOL ;) I'm glad we took it out! Thanks again for your comments and Merry Christmas to you :) |

another complaint or concern or quibble -- it only turns over one card from the stack at a time rather than the more difficult 3 cards at a time. How come??

Robert, this came from observation that most people play the "one card" version. This is just most common way and I didn't want to introduce an option here, since it would make other things, like top score charts more complex too.
Perhaps this is something to consider in future versions though. Thanks for the tip! :) |

I love the artwork and music of Solitaire Classic, but I do get annoyed that I can't click to place cards instead of drag, like some other solitaire games let you do. I've got fibromyalgia, and when it flares up, dragging can sometimes be more painful than clicking which is a drag (sorry, couldn't resist the bad pun).
Also, I like that a lot of games let you click once to complete the solitaire after all cards are played and it's obvious you're going to win. It's not just a matter of it taking less time - again, it's the reduction in dragging (or clicking on games that let you click). I feel like I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak, since this is a free game, but if your next games involve more 'traditional' solitaire, you should consider adding clicking instead of dragging, especially considering how many people out there have some kind of hand pain (arthritis, repetitive stress, carpal tunnel, etc.). Thanks! |

lilitu93 -- Thanks! These are good suggestions and you gave us strong reasons for thinking about this in the future. I'll also see if we can implement any of this back into Classic.

Hi lilityu93,
I have a suggestion to you. If you can,get a Trackball mouse. I have one and carpel tunnel in my hands. My hands fall asleep and hurt more if I use a regular mouse. Here is the link to their site. I hope it helps you. Mareellen |
